Experience
1989 - 1991. Graduate Engineer with Colquhoun Geotechnical Services Ltd (now Thorburn Colquhoun Ltd) engaged in desk studies, ground investigations and the management and supervision of Contractors. Design work involving earthworks, motorways, foundations, road pavements and hydrogeology.
1991 - 1995. Assistant Engineer with Sir Owen Williams and Partners Ltd (now Owen Williams Ltd) involved in project management and supervision of numerous site investigations, including contract preparation and administration, financial control and budgeting. Investigation and management of derelict and contaminated land including recommendations for ground improvement, foundation design, gases, and the redevelopment and treatment of contaminants. Preparation of interpretative reports for a variety of projects which have included foundation design, earthwork design and slope stability. Design and supervision of two motorway reconstruction contracts including setting out, drainage, safety fencing, paving and traffic management.
1995 - Present. Principal of Michael D Joyce Associates LLP. Responsibility for projects from tendering stage, planning contract administration, site supervision, interpretative reporting, invoicing and budget control.
